Would calling it a ‘family charger’ taking your argument infer that the family is ‘slow’

No, because a family isn't generally seen as slow; whereas the sub section in society it IS directed at, unfortunately is. Maybe too (yet another) another sterptype exits that 'Gran' is not likely to have a dedicated EV wall charger too? It gets worse.
Note that link I posted also refers to the slow/gran aspect of the nomenclature.
If I were Gran i would be offended at the common language used to describe it, just as i would be if I were a member of a minority group and a particular type of cable was used in a way to mock my situation/status.

Good point about the stereotype that ‘gran’ won’t have a wall box. I hadn’t thought of that one. When you say a family isn’t generally slow, do you imply that a granny generally is slow?

Good idea. My working assumption is if I could choose the most likely home wall box locations, the home of a granny would not be top of my list. Research may prove me wrong.

Well, going back to the thread title, I'd say no, don't get one. At least not until later next year when maybe 'all the' issues get sorted. I also wouldn't hold your breath too much on that either, going by some the customer relation stories I've read during my 'break' (hey, you're always going to have courageous, anonymous posters who despise and 'report' other's opinions huh lol).
Anyway, during my 'break', I sat in a Trophy (and liked it in fairness) and mentioned the under tray bulge. Naturally they'd never heard of it so taking my chances I got down and looked under the showroom car, and bingo, it was there. I said 'anyone want to wager it'll also be on the one charging outside too'? I went outside and checked and, bingo, you guessed it.
I commented on all of the issues thus far and, you guessed it, they'd never heard of any, so I got my phone out, pulled up this site (in my favourites, naturally) and told them to get the coffee on so we can read thorough 650 of them. Never got that coffee lol

I should have walked away as a previous visit to the same dealer but another brand they sell tried holding me to ransom just to get the price off them. Believe it or not they wanted me to sign and order the car before they would give me the price.

I cancelled my order today unfortunately and for me there was to many issues for brand new car.

I will observe now BYD and Smart#1 announcements. I received e mail from smart they will open pre orders in spring for summer deliveries. BYD supposed to start pre orders end of this year however currently only Arnold Clark announced as a seller for Scotland.
