MG4 Software Update Thread

There's 6 uploaded, 6 more currently being extracted to get details
Had to replace the folders with zip files

Currently on nights so will be a few days for the rest although I may have to move them as drive is almost out of space, 14GB of MG4 stuff on the Google drive, currently 1.5TB of MG stuff on a NAS, main problem is finding what you want as you have to open the files to see which model it's for then do several separate extraction to view details (zip file, OTA file, payload.bin, system.img)
Is r63 on your source?

I’ve updated to r59 now. Looks like it is a euro version. Is there another step to get the local MG service points back or is this regional info backed in to the update?

I think you’re stuck with this version for now because, as far as I know, the Australian R11 hasn’t been leaked yet. Hopefully, it will become available soon, but I really have no idea.

If you can’t get hold of it, I’m afraid your only option to revert to R11 would be to visit a dealer and request a downgrade.

By the way, when I was experimenting with maps, I managed to install the AUS-NZ ones on R59, but they didn’t work because my car is localised in Europe. If you feel like trying them, here’s the link:

Configurations are separate files in the MG system to the OS updates.
You've now got an EU operating system version with an AU/NZ configuration.

Should be possible to get you back onto AU/NZ R11. Once that's done you will be back to normal and the dealer will be none the wiser.

Please be aware that you MUST only flash the proper SWI version corresponding to your system.
Other SWI may refer to totally different car models (that syntax is used by MG since the ZS facelift)
Do you know what mean this prefix, SWI?
Interesting, is there somewhere the list of SWI numbers and what models they encode?

SWI69 - Europe Std version
SWI68 - Europe Lux version
SWI131 - ?
SWI165 - Australian Std version
SWI173 - ?
... ?

Well EH32 is MG4, these are the SWI versions I've found so far

SWI68 & SWI69 are EU 22/23 trophy & SE
SWI132 & SWI133 are EU 24 SE & trophy
SWI131 & SWI165 are AUS SE & trophy equivalent
Not sure about 173 & 86 but they're SE equivalent

I've also found AS22, AS23, AS28, AS32, AS33 EC23, IP42, EP22, AP31, AP32, EP35, ES33, IM31 their updates can go up to 10GB, would be good if we also had a list of models with their code

Seems like they make the trophy updates harder to get

PS leonkernan installed SWI69 on his SWI131 and it worked apart from the reverse camera as the EU SE doesn't have it, if people are willing to risk something not working they could possibly mix SWI but at your own risk, if the original version files aren't available then you maybe stuck without going to a dealership

Do you have the possibility to share the other files you found, so we can examine them and find out what's going on?

Which are you thinking of? the MG4 ones that I have that fit on the drive are on there, the ones that won't fit look to be older versions

The current issue is finding the 1100R11 files…

Hello, do you think I can safely install the R38 on my standard MG4 V1?
THANKS
It should be able to update without any problems, (that’s what your dealer would do anyways) but as always, I emphasise that performing an update always carries a small risk..

Don’t get me wrong—it only involves updating the touchscreen, so the risks are quite limited.

But you never know…

What if someone uses a faulty USB stick to install the update? Plus, some people might not understand the basics and could end up messing something up, like trying to update with the wrong file.

That’s why my general advice is to “go ahead”… as long as you know what you’re doing.

Could you please write down this information in SWICodes.txt on your GoogleDrive. It would be useful and can be updated later if new information be found.

Yep, that's what motivated me to finding the Aussie version R05 so I could go back :p
