I would like to hear from other UK owners on R59 if they also experience improved responsiveness.R46 prior to this

I went from R33 to R46 and had the same experience - startup is slower and it is more important to wait before doing anything (especially for CarPlay where if you plug in too early it now won't work), but the interface is now pretty responsive when trying to press buttons and type, so once started it is a big improvement. My Luxury/Trophy did improve a lot regarding responsiveness when updated from 1300R31 to R44, but I have noticed that the startup time for the infotainment now is significantly longer with R46 as it now always has a full startup.
Jury still out on LKA, but it seems to be gentler (more nudging and beeping and less jerking) than before. The car is definitely better all round after the update.
I haven't had enough time on r41 to judge it because I was quickly moved to r46 after delivery. My Luxury/Trophy did improve a lot regarding responsiveness when updated from 1300R31 to R44, but I have noticed that the startup time for the infotainment now is significantly longer with R46 as it now always has a full startup.

Yes.Question:
The pull down menu LKA button, is that in place from R59 only?
I could be wrong, but I think the latest software for the SE is R33 (a different R33 to the Trophy one!)My car is going in tomorrow for various things: MG campaign RC008 -door locking, SC47 EH32 CCU Software update and SCUK001 Software updates.
As I'm currently on version 1100R16 it might be a bit of a lottery as to what I end up with, as Richmond Portsmouth don't seem to be that on the ball when it comes to servicing.
Any idea from the above information what I'll end up with? It's a very long thread to do a search on!
Tell them your infotainment is faulty - Bluetooth drop outs regularly and it doesn't have the external temperature display that should be top right of the large display. Also I don't get any audible instruction from Android Auto navigation if I'm playing the radio (works fine if streaming music or radio). My car is going in tomorrow for various things: MG campaign RC008 -door locking, SC47 EH32 CCU Software update and SCUK001 Software updates.

Nope, I have it on R46 as well - which I got back in November.Question:

Although the SE version never had the HVAC dropdown, it was nice to have the drop down menu in CarPlay.Just updated to R59 on Trophy Long Range
Tuesday 4th June.
Updated to new version fixed a lot of problems from R46.
Enclosed is a letter from my dealer regarding the update.

With the lka disable button?Nope, I have it on R46 as well - which I got back in November.
Had my first service yesterday. The only update applied was one for auto high beam sensitivity (Auto high beam was useless, maybe it is less useless now, will see when it gets darker again)..
You can also use MG voice control I think. I already do that now.Just updated to R59 on Trophy Long Range

Hmm, my workshop/dealer told me today, that MG Austria refuses to upgrade my xpower to R59 because of loads of bugs.Just updated to R59 on Trophy Long Range

Well I took it for a long drive out and all the bugs I had with R46 have been fixed in R59. Bluetooth connection is stable , high beam now works correctly. When in cruise control the car no longer slows down on a slight bend. Lane assistance is far less aggressive. Icons now show on BBC radio stations, best part of all all speed camera signs are picked up and shown not missed one since having R59, in R46 most of the time it didn’t work. Plus more improvements to type down. So far found nothing negative to report.Hmm, my workshop/dealer told me today, that MG Austria refuses to upgrade my xpower to R59 because of loads of bugs.
The dealer also mentioned, they have sold quite a bunch of MG4, but I am the only owner complaining about flaws and bugs
and also to tell me to have just one customer having a xpower - me.
That's great although this isn't all down to R59 - LKA and ACC are module updates, not controlled by Infotainment. Probably also true of high beam behaviour.Well I took it for a long drive out and all the bugs I had with R46 have been fixed in R59. Bluetooth connection is stable , high beam now works correctly. Sounds like your dealer is making an excuse not to do the upgrade.
Another thing I forgot to mention. The Trophy was very hit or miss recognising speed camera signs. That seems to be fixed now picks up the speed signs ok.That's great although this isn't all down to R59 - LKA and ACC are module updates, not controlled by Infotainment.
