Pictures!!?.
Next Saturday. 14th September. It's my Birthday on the 11th September, so a nice present to meself. ???
... and about time too ... ???At Chorley MG now. I've pulled the trigger
on a, Volcano Orange X Power. ??
The Cyberster is absolutely fantastic. ?
mine was delivered with R40 in June but I am sure that someone mentioned the latest is r50Does anyone know what the latest software version is please, and are there any separate module updates?
When the dealer supplying mine contacts me i will also check this is what the car has.
Thanks.
Pretty sure it's R59 for the X Power. Someone will confirm that. ??mine was delivered with R40 in June but I am sure that someone mentioned the latest is r50
Yep R59 is the current latest software. In terms of other modules, sadly we can't see these but depending on manufacture date, many may need updating (eg there was a big update released in May this year to improve LKA, AEB & ACC).
Sadly most dealers will not update everything to the latest version as MG withdrew paying dealers to do this last year at PDI (confirmed by my purchasing dealer) so you have to flag issues with the car to the dealer so that they can claim warranty time to do the updates (the infotainment only takes a few minutes but the other modules, updated via ODB2 port, can take many hours).
Just another example of poorly MG UK treat their dealers and ultimately us, the customer. It's no wonder so many dealers are dropping the MG franchise.
The easy answer to this for the "savvy" new car buyer, armed with this knowledge is surely just to state to the salesman if I don't get the the updates, I won't buy the car ?. Afterall once you've bought the car you have very little to pressure them with ?.
People on here can tell you what to check for with the updates, such as an LKA icon appearing in the drop down menu, ACC increasing by 1mph at a time with a single quick push up of the stalk. I think @Bricktop will have more knowledge on this as he has had the updates done ?
Other things to do/check from memory are :-
1. Check undertray bulge
2. Check bonnet insulation is present
3. Check both keys work and both have the manual key tucked inside the fob.
4. Check all windows operate OK independently
5. Check keyless works on both driver and passenger door.
6. Check correct charger cable is in boot (not sure if this changed from Granny 3-pin to Type 2 recently?)
7. Check the reg plates are straight and display correct reg front and back !
8 Check VIN number matches order form etc.
9, Get salesman to pair phone and car to the MG Smart App
10. Mine did not come with locking wheel nuts ... salesman said they don't ?
Hope so, for those not yet got one, but could now be tempted. ??Can it get any cheaper!?

Yeh, but when you got yours, that was the price. You wanted one, so you got it.That is a massive kick in the Nads for me.
Not the first time mind, and probably won't be the last.
