MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

So the parcel shelf wasn't far off then.
😉🙂👍
I can only make out 2023 08, the rest is completely worn off, I've written the numbers in red below the blue ones.

id also like to Add here just nothing more than a bit of speculation !!

While its been proven to me via my dealer that the vibe is NOT caused by out of balanced wheels !!

I do wonder if customers that a complaining thats it excessive vibes it not buckled wheels as well ..

One of mine has a slight buckle in it so a good argument could be made that if said car with excessive vibes had more than one buckled wheel due to just bad luck of the 4 wheels fitted from factory could be adding to the issue more so than normal !!

After seeing the buckle in one of my wheels with my own 2 eyes i would urge customers to speak to their dealers to check for buckles !!

As 100% not out of the realm of possibility that there was a bad batch of wheels from factory !!

I think ppl have tried different wheels ie other MG4 ones.
Yes, I think everything has been tried with no 100% success 🤷‍♂️.

Someone has measured the vibrations on Facebook and there's definitely a specific small range for it (41hz) (i.e. 67-73mph for most people).

Obviously just a characteristic . . . . . . . . I'll leave now before I get lynched. 😁

Too late to get lynched.
You're now a fully paid up Consumer Tester for SAIC m8, like it or not.
(And cheap we all are too!)

Test drove a mid 24 model Xpower for some comparison.
Things I noticed:
  • no vibration
  • shudder noise is still there
  • handling seems better, as in cornering, less roll and overall seems more planted.
  • traction control is way better, as in you can have more fun :). It's not overly sensitive.
  • power delivery is different when on the pedal, so now you get a chirp out of the front wheels, even on the roll up to say 60km/h. I feels like its power is delivered in a smother way, they might have looked at drive train longevity etc.
  • LKA is perfect
  • Pilot is way better, still not Tesla level, but handy for highway use.
  • undertrays redesigned, no sag.
  • infotainment seemed snappier.
  • seems quieter on the road.

Overall it feels like my mid 23 build is a beta version

Can you describe the “shudder noise” please a bit more ? I’m not sure what you mean and don’t think mine has it. Is it at the vibration range ?

And still they sell the car.......

On mine it was more like a sort of aerodynamic buffeting noise. It was on the upper end of the vibration speed range. Seemed to come from the wing mirror area, unfortunately you can't fold them back at speed to find out.

Just seen the What Car YT video on the Cyberster GT , No actual mention of the words ,vibes, characteristics, etc, but there is a reference to " shimmy " and camera shake. Discuss !

I think the cyberster will sell slow awesome looking car but not particularly practical and pricey for what it is ..

It will sell to the die hard MG fans but being as actual MG died years and years ago die hard MG fans are far and few between..

Still the reviews I’ve seen is it has some flaws but YAY no vibes🤣🤣

The cyberster gts coupe would be more my buy if the ionic 5 n didn’t exist!

So no vibrations, but definitely the same noise that used to appear at the same speed as the vibes. Its akin to that kind of sound if your rear windows are down, seemed worse at low % of charge. Its wasnt annoying but sound if you pay attention was here. Almost like MG have worked out how to hide the vibes, but not the sound.

Good looking car with a great specification, shame about the weight. For a 2 seater how did they make it so heavy ?
