Try it on lowest fan setting and sit in the car quietly.

Yeah - I can confirm that mine is the same.
No big deal, at least you know if it's working !.
A/C turned onto Max cooling and a medium setting on the blower speed.
Now and again, you can hear a low hum type noise being emitted, as the A/C briefly kicking in and out.
You can also feel a small vibration through the steering wheel as this happens.
It can be heard / felt only when the car is cueing through traffic or stationary.
Unlikely to experienced when travelling at speed due to other factors like road noise etc.

And have Tinnitus.

I also suffer from Tinnitus after being involved in a car crash, not good at all.
