CRASH DETECTION:
We have the ecall system over here. From the manual:

eCall - SOS Emergency Assistance
In an accident, your vehicle’s eCall – SOS Emergency
Assistance can either be triggered manually or in severe
cases automatically upon detection by vehicle’s sensors.
The eCall service is a public service of general interest and
is accessible free of charge. The emergency call centre will
establish verbal communication with the vehicle occupants
in order to understand the extent of the emergency and
the level of assistance required. If verbal communication
is not achievable an attempt will be made to send the
following vehicle information message to the emergency
call centre. The appropriate emergency services will be
deployed to the vehicle’s current location if known.
• Current time, location and direction of travel
• Vehicle Type
• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
• Whether the call was automatically or manually initiated
• Vehicle Category
....... the manual goes on a bit with some more detail. I think a UK manual can be found on @siteguru 's website if you're interested.

It may be worth checking in your manual in case there's something similar over there.

Most of the stuff here seems good.
I have a couple of minor additions...
1 Can MG please sort out the accelerate/decelerate cadence in ACC. It is hilly where I live and whenever I reach the top of a hill and start going down the other side the ACC seems to slam on the brakes. Gentle introduction of regenerative braking would be nice.
2 Could we have an option for an analogue speedometer dial? I find the speed digit flicker annoying. It would not be a big software overhead to put a dial on the screen.

I had some updates just before Christmas and the first thing I noticed was what seemed like gentler application of regen both when taking my foot off the accelerator and when ACC was in control - maybe some smoothing on the throttle signal??

Bit of a :tldr so apologies if it's already been said but -
A parameter in the formula that works out if your tyres are losing pressure, such as " bit chilly? 0.1 bar pressure reduction? = Stay mum"

The main "features" I would love to see are (Trophy usually covers most of others but) :
1. Washer fluid low indicator
2. Rear passenger lighting (though this was solved with a couple of rechargeable lights from Amazon), this is like super essential in winter months in UK.
3. One-touch LKA disable, and removal of confirmation.
4. Better integration between Android Play and CarUI. They seem to fight at times, especially when using Nav and turn signals at low speeds (the 360 cam fights the nav)
5. DRL control in Park mode.
6. iSmart modification to notify charging state or charging target completed alert
7. Better integration of charging state and miles driven for better tracking.
8. Rear-seatbelt buckle restrictor so that they don't disappear behind the seat.

And a fun one... auto-honk on passing by another MG4 😂

If MG4 standard had the design of luxury, it would be best seller. Why can't I have a LFP battery and a good design at the same time?

I have to say something good about MG4 too:

MG4 ST is the BEST car for my case of use (120km commute per day). Technology wise it's about the best you can find in any car. It sacrifices interior materials to cut costs, which I consider is good.

It looks GREAT on the outside too.

If MG keep focusing on improving MG4 once per year like they have been doing until now, I can see myself recommending this brand for a very long time.

Great hardware. And they are improving QA on software too.

EDIT: I wish they keep focusing on modern batteries like LFP and solid state rather than NMC.

I would like to be able to toggle regenerative breaking to go one step further. 1,2,3,OPD
That way I would not have to go to the menus to enable OPD.

Also, like on the Nissan Leaf, OPD should be available at any battery state of charge. I don't know how Nissan does it, but proves it's possible. Probably they just use more friction brakes and slowly introduce more regen as the battery level drops.

I've had my 4 for just over a year and TBH I don't like it, however, it's about as good as I expected all things considered.

The one thing that really grates on me is MG's attitude towards aftercare, warranty issues are far too difficult to sort.

The lack of software updates is very poor, I will never own another MG and will be handing it back once my PCP finishes.

If they want to keep current owners in the MG family this attitude needs to change.

Why oh why is there no warning when leaving the vehicle with the side lights on?
OK it does give a warning on the driver's screen when retuning to the vehicle, just a tad late methinks.
Sorry if the above has already been covered, tldr.

Sure, MG UK are cheap and a little disorganised, but meanwhile BMW tried charging people to use the heated seats built into their cars.

It'd be nice if they added "Lights on/off" to the app status screen at least.
