Xpower - 12 months on

5) As a getaway car, don’t bother. Sometimes i get in and put it into drive and nothing happens. So I sit there pressing brake and tapping the big park button and the car does nothing. Turns out you have to wait for the car to ‘boot up’ sometimes before you can drive .
Did a quick test of this tonight, hit the button on the door, jumped in, brake on, into drive and away. About 2 seconds. Not even a winge about systems not being available either. You definately do not need to wait for everything to boot up. Not sure if I'd have been able to change modes etc, but getting away was quick.

Agreed.
I now get away quickly most of the time.
Pre flight went out the window quite some time ago.
I switch off the LKA on the way to the main road.
(1 mile 🤣)

..............Summary… if you wanna do 3.6 secs 0-60 then it’s fun. I recommend any speedsters have a go , but don’t buy one.
I have 12 months lease left and I’m going to part ways like I did with an ex missis, she was crazy and lots of fun but I’d never go back. Too much hard work :)

A different opinion here from a 15 month lease owner who's done 25,000 miles !!👍 . I tend to agree with him on most points as a drivers car. Yes there are software gremlins etc. and a few build issues but most new cars have these. If you can live with the vibes (if you have them) then what else is there at this price point if you want a practical 5dr hatch with a sub 12 second quarter mile 😉

Nearly 12 months on for me and the only annoying issues I have really experienced have happened in the last month. The entertainment screen has twice gone black on me, and the safety systems have shut down while driving, lane assist, cruse control and emergency braking. Hopefully, my car is going in for a software update next week to get this fixed, currently on R40.

The assist systems going offline has happened to me when the windscreen has frozen/misted over the camera area - the triangle bit near the top-middle. That's because they use that sensor as an input, and if the sensor is blocked they disable/go offline as they can't detect anything.

He's an MG Customer Service Advisors WET DREAM!!!

And I quote.
"Yes I do have the vibration, but it's not a problem"

"I just do 60 or 72mph"

THAT IS NOT THE POINT!

I agree with almost everything else he has to say though.

In fact, I think he's been reading all my back threads!!🤣

The square rear number plate doesn't do it for me.

Most of you who know me, know I Love My Car, and have been banging on for months about Performance Per Pound, Ease Of Use, Fun To Drive, etc etc.

Nothing comes close for the money.

It is an exceptional all round package IMO.

But I will not accept the vibration being a characteristic or something I can or should work around.

Don't get me wrong, I do work around it by breaking the speed limit.

I do not expect to be in front of the Beak anytime soon for 75mph, but.........maybe?

"My excuse Ma'Lud, is that I had a hastily engineered early car, and MG say I am suppose to Just Shut Up and go away.

Not happening.

Interesting, it did come back online later in the journey when I turned the AC. Had not even considered that could be an issue.

I am surprised that they have not started referring to it as force feedback feature.
