First Frost today. 😬

For frozen charger flaps or anything else that ices up, simply carry a 12V hair dryer in the car that has a cigarrete lighter adaptor. Cheap and small enough to fit in the glove box. Remove it come spring time.

So, when does the after market heating coil around the charging flap going to hit the market ;)

Here is one possibility ..... https://www.amazon.com.au/Treedix-Voltage-Induction-Heating-Supply/dp/B086V6CYM6 and WOYO 1pc Parts Induction Coil Kits For Induction Heater, Accessories For Flameless Heating bolt Remover HBR Tool - AliExpress 1420
and make a loop around the inside of guard around the flap. A momentary press button switch to power it up, watch the ice melt and release the button once you get the flap open. Not sure if it would work on the plastic flap itself, without causing melted plastic or paint colour changes .....

This would also work but it might discolour the paintwork a tad.

The problem with warming the car by getting into it first is that you can't then get out and lock the car - if you do that the HVAC turns off. With the app the car remains locked at all times until you unlock it. :)
Can they drive off in it, though. Without the key in the car. Even if they knew about pressing the brake pedal first. 🤔
Try it and see. After sitting in the drivers seat go and put the key well away from the car, then try and drive the car away.

Experimented this morning. Usual routine went out, booted up the car, by pressing on the seat. Heater on full. Heated Steering wheel and seat on. Went back in finished me Coffee. Went back out, left the key in the house. Car would not move, without the key in the car. So result!
Safe to leave it warming up, without it getting nicked! 🙂👍

And not illegal like doing it in an ice! Good to know.

I guess that's ok until the car door lock or handle freeze shut. 🥶
Ok, buy 2 of them, they're very cheap, from around €10 from Aliexpress, keep one at home and the other in the car. Or just keep one on the boot of the car which is unlikely to freeze shut.

My gripe with the app is that you cannot switch on the rear screen/door mirror heaters. Seems like an omission to me.

Heated wheel option missing - meh! It takes no time to warm up anyway, I don't miss that.

Totally agree. My gripe with the app, is the fact it is an app. Almost as easy to go to the car. Turn everything on, go back in, finish your cup of coffee. Go back out, everything nice and Toasty, drive off, job done. 🙂👍

I would to do so many things remotely, but unless my Xpower is "awake" iSmart can never connect, even with the garage door open. Am I the only owner with this problem? When charging I have no problems, but as soon as charging stops there's no way I can connect via iSmart.

This morning I got the chance to use the heating properly on the app, full temperature and one seat on low, and I let it do it's full 10 minutes. This fully defrosted the front windscreen inside and out, and the car was nice and warm and ready to go. The best thing was it only used 1% battery and 2 miles of range, that's probably cheaper than a can of de-icer. 😂

I know you guys probably already know this, but it's all new to me. 😁

First Frost of the year, this morning, and quite a sharp one, too. The car was White. First Frost for my X Power. So sat in the car, powered it up. Heating on full, blower on full. Heated Steering wheel and seat on. And Heated rear window on. Back in the house, finished me Coffee. 5 mins later, back out. Car totally frost free, car inside, lovely and Toasty. Drove off. Brilliant! 🙂👍
Very grateful for this trick - this week we had to do TWO early morning trips to A & E. Now typing from my hospital bed but hopefully getting Sepsis beaten.

Sorry to hear this. Get well soon. 👍

Oh crikey. I'm in hospital too, though not with sepsis.
Yes, I sincerely hope you are beating that bu99er over the head with a 5h177y stick.

Hoping you have some support at your end (friends/ relatives) who can visit you and keep your pecker up.

Thanks, this is what a community is for. Veet lucky to have support of wife 2 daughters, one son -in-law and grandsons, and friends.

Hope you both get better and are out for Christmas, no one has been bad enough to have to suffer hospital food over Christmas.
Wife is trying to beat an ulcer in her right heal ... seems to have been set off by one of those gel heal sock things designed to remove the dead skin ..... started out as a crack heal, around a mth before the house fire, just seems to be hanging on and causing major pain problems.
Her latest attempt has been https://www.canesten.com.au/discover-canesten-products/canesten-clotrimazole-antifungal-cream and that seems to be doing good, despite the tests saying it isn't fungal related .... if it stops the pain and clears it up, who cares who was right .....
