MG4 Software Update Thread

Yep, that's what motivated me to finding the Aussie version R05 so I could go back :p
That’s something to emphasise: if your current software isn’t available, there’s no way back—at least not on your own.
I’m not familiar with the Australian/New Zealand warranty policies, but showing up at a dealer with an unsupported software version might raise eyebrows.

For those still willing to upgrade to R38/R59 on Australasian models, be aware of the following:

European SE models don’t have reverse cameras, so R38 may not support them.

It is possible to install Australian maps on R59, but when I tried this, I encountered a localisation error with the maps. I’m not sure if this was due to my car being EU-spec or linked to the R59 release itself.

There may be glitches related to radio band differences. Here in Europe, FM range is 87.5 to 107.9, DAB frequencies may be different, and AM has fallen into disuse, so R38/R59 don’t even provide access to it.

I was meaning that the display of the temperature range may be implemented in the Infotainment update .. the control of it would be via the HVAC update. Hence why the two updates may go in tandem. :)

Maybe,
Or the infotainment may also give/receive values straight to/from the HVAC… hard to tell.

In any case, is your system performing better now?

Update Ok. Thx !

Well EH32 is MG4, these are the SWI versions I've found so far
View attachment 32358
SWI68 & SWI69 are EU 22/23 trophy & SE
SWI131 & SWI165 are AUS SE & trophy equivalent
Not sure about 173 & 86 but they're SE equivalent

I've also found AS22, AS23, AS32, EC23 etc their updates can go up to 10GB, would be good if we also had a list of models with their code

Seems like they make the trophy updates harder to get

PS leonkernan installed SWI69 on his SWI131 and it worked apart from the reverse camera as the EU SE doesn't have it, if people are willing to risk something not working they could possibly mix SWI but at your own risk, if the original version files aren't available then you maybe stuck without going to a dealership
There's also SWI132 for French (EU) Standard (SE) MY2024 and SWI133 for French (EU) Luxury (Trophy) MY2024.
These two systems came with ISA files for GSR2 drive regulation

It seems complicated even to know which corresponds to which :)

it would be great to have all the latest versions simply by telling us which version for which car :)

for information in the update that I made in the menus *#... we can activate the wifi...

thank you again everyone for your work

I would like to review all the files you found as other. AS22, AS23, AS32, EC23 etc. I can share my google drive capacity with you if you want.
Unless you know a large online storage location it maybe hard as I currently have 400 FICM files which total 550GB

I've had a quick look and these are all the models that were easily identifiable
AS22 - RX5
AS23, AS28, AS32, AS33 - HS
AP31, AP32, EP22 - MG5
EC32 - Cyberster
EH32 - MG4
EP21 - Marvel R
EP35 (guess MG5)
ES33 (guess HS)
IM31
IP42 - MG7
ZP11, ZP22 - MG3
ZS11, ZS32 - ZS

What do you think, first letter for designed fuel type, second letter body type? (I know some models are released with different fuel types but they were originally designed a particular way)
Eg
A - fuel
E - electric
Z - hybrid

C - coup
H - hatchback
P - estate
S - SUV

By looking at what you currently have and comparing it to the details on your car it should be reasonably easy
Your car will show for example SWI69 29958 1100R38
The files are named R* SWI* 1*00

what I mean by that is knowing on such and such a car we can put such and such a version...

style I have a standard but I can put such software which is provided on a luxury to have more functionalities :)

That would be a modification to the car and as such few people would do it, if you have the original version for your car you could try any / all of them and report the differences

As stated previously people have put 1300 software on a 1100 and put SWI69 on a SWI131 but done knowing there's risk

For EU there 1100 (SE) R38, 1300 (trophy) R59 (R63 is latest)
For AUS there's 1100 (excite) R05, 1300 (essence) R11 (unfortunately not currently available)

Other markets that I know are Mexico, Israel, Turkey, China but I don't know the models or R* for those

Israel until a few months had the EU software (SWI68-29958-1300R59). Now we have different numbers from EU (r11, not sure about the swi and 1xxx)

My car is V1 trophy (luxury) so i am using the EU r59.

They don't know what they're talking about. Never saw R48 for SWI68. R40, R46 but no R48.

R63 is rolling out since November 11th, some dealer succeeded to have it since late September
